Happy dance-orchids getting ready to bloom
Just for curiosity this afternoon I counted how many plants are either blooming, in spike or with sheaths that have buds. Wow! Over 20 so far! I am surprised and happy due to the fact that our weather this summer was so hot and dry and I lost quite a few of my thinner leaved varieties.
Of course, I'm not counting the chickens until the eggs hatch but the majority should bloom.

Thanks Junebug.
Gloria, exactly. After struggling all summer with the weather to see some results is quite gratifying.

Congratulations!
I also found quite a few that are in sheath as I was moving them in from outside today. Since our summer was also the pits I too am surprised and pretty excited.

Is happy dance the one Snoopy does? I am doing that too - five phals, a colmanara and at least onecymbidium in bud, and Odontoglossum 'Anna Claire' opened this weekend, a paph Maudiae type last Week - I love this time of year!!!

Happy dance-orchids getting ready to bloom
Well, the pics are going to be a bit in coming along, as are the flowers. It will probably be a several month long process as they emerge from the sheaths. Today Lc. wriglei, C. bowringiana, Bllra. Marfitch 'Howards Dream',
Blc. Golden Tang, Catclia Tinker Toy 'Sprite', Aerides Robsan's Gem, C. Penny Kuroda 'spots' AM/AOS x Lc. Jungle Gem 'very nice' ,Pot. Burana Beauty 'Burana' are blooming.
The C. Penny Kuroda 'spots' is very long lasting.
OOOH, isn't this fun!

I also gave several in total in either bloom, bud or sheath. I can't wait until the Catts start blooming later on.
