Thanks again...it helps when one's sibling is as much into orchids as you are. Birthdays and Christmas is getting kind of funny, we now just assume that we're buying each other orchids, it's just a question of which one's. lol

Hey Helen, that's ok, I'm the same way. I used to have a hard time figuring out what the differences between marbled and strap leaf paphs were. Still do sometimes. And then there is all the cross breeding...

I still haven't ordered anything from them, but other people have and seem to be generally impressed, and I believe there is a thread on the forum in the vendor feedback section. I'm sure the variegated phals are available here in Ont. too.

Great plants! Those Calanthe hybrids are very interesting little guys!

I find that Paph. amabile should be regarded a seperate species from Paph. bullenianum, due to the leaf shape, texture, and differing flowers. Unfortunately, I cannot provide pictures of both species' leaves for contrast.

The plant you have does have the typical shape and coloration for Paph. callosum, which is a completely different species, and does not resemble either Paph. amabile or Paph. bullenianum...
