Some new orchids, and finally a shelf
I ordered some more chids last week, they shipped out yesterday and arrived this morning. Talk about fast shipping! I'm in a Phal mood lately so I bought only Phals this time.
I got:
Phal Braquestris (braceana x equestris, hard to find cross. Got it because I'm starting a collection of equestris primary hybrids)
Phal lueddemanniana (2 plants in pot, with one spike and what seems to be another spike or a basal keiki)
Phal equestris semi alba (3 plants in pot, each one with a spike)
Phal schilleriana
And 2 weeks ago I finally got a shelf for my orchids! A nice metal one from IKEA. It was time for one, the windowsill had long since reached maximum capacity. It was a gift from my mother to celebrate my freshly started PhD program. It means a lot to me because she's usually not too keen on fueling my orchid addiction!
I put my 55W power compact on the bottom shelf, and I'll have to buy some more lights for the 2 shelves above. For now they get the sun all morning, but come fall the light won't hit the window any longer, so lights are a must.

Looking good Camille. Nice shelve too. Means more space for more orchids. Well done.

Beautiful plants! May I ask where have you bought them from?
Congrats on your new shelf (I might use the idea), and good luck with your PhD!

Oopsie, didn't realize that there were all the new mod buttons there and accidently edited your post instead of quoting!
As I was saying, I got them from Claessen Orchideeën Orchideeen-shop.nl - Dé webwinkel voor orchideeën a Dutch grower. I think he's only been in business 5 years or so, and his plants are excellent quality. Always been happy with what I got there. I recommend them, but shipping to Belgium is something like 25€.

They look great Camille
Of course maybe your Mum is pleased about your new job so she doesn't have to help fund your orchid collecting

As I said in a PM earlier, this was the same mistake I made when I first became a moderator, and it wasn't the last time I made that mistake either

Given your experience in growing orchids, your editing could only make my posts better

Thank you, good to know.
25€ for a next day delivery beats 17.5€ for one week delivery (DHL from Germany to Belgium). Anyway, Claessen Orchideeën is only about 150 km from Brussels and I could drive there in a weekend.
