Excellent Camille! I love my shelf. Everything in one place where I can keep an eye on things!

Congrats on getting into the PhD program. That's quite an accomplishment.

Congrats on also becoming a Mod!

Next day delivery is probably only within the Netherlands, that's how the postal service works here: very fast. Nearly everything is next day delivery, even if you mail the thing in the afternoon! No idea how fast (or slow) it is to other countries.

What a wonderful idea! I might copy that one ! :-)
I only just started this year. I have equestris x maculata and equestris x kingidium minus, both of which are not yet blooming size. Lucky me, there's a good german grower that has a dozen more equestris primary hybrids. Next one I want is violacea coerulea x equestris coerulea, as well as the cross with tetraspis C#1.

I'm really looking forward to the next 4 years as a PhD students. I'm in plant science, working on plant-insect interactions. Basically I'll be looking at how multiple biotic stresses (aphid, caterpillar and fungal attack) will affect the plant's production of volatiles (chemical signals that plants emit into the air), and how in turn the differences in volatile profile affect the attraction of beneficial insects as well as other insects. I'll do some of lab work too to see which genes are turned on/off, and study what happens to the plant's "immune system".

And of course being a PhD student in the Netherlands means that I have lots of money for orchids!

And I'm very happy to be a mod too!
