seriously though, why not get your favorite flower? the tattoo will mean more to you if the type of flower has some significance to you personally
you don't need to limit yourself to orchids either. Some of the best floral tattoos I've seen are lotus, lily, or iris tattoos.
Orchids are my favorite flower. I have been in love with them forever. It's just hard to find an orchid flower color that will stand out against the skin. I love phals, but wanted something different. I really love paphs and phrags. Cattleyas have some really beautiful orange and reds. I may go with one of those. I would like the leaves to sort of mingle in with the flowers a little.
I'll definitely post pics when I get it but it won't be for a while -- my husband's finishing up his sleeve and it's usually best to have only one of us hurting at a time! want it for my birthday in October! I can't wait to see yours -- I love tattoos almost as much as I love orchids!
I won't get mine for a little bit either. Seems like it will take me longer to find one I like enough to live with the rest of my life than it will for them to tattoo it on me!! I will definitely post pics. My husband is thinking about a sleeve. Can't wait to see if he goes through with it.
May I add to the suggestion list crosses which include:
Ascocenda Guo Chia Long
A very interesting flame effect can be achieved. Being part of the Vanda group the leaves and roots should also lend themselves well to the tattooists needle.
Eventually I too want to complete my back and have it covered. Haven't finalized the design yet though. One Day!
What ever you guys get I would Love to see the results.
