What a fantastic present Will you be there on the Sunday that's when I'm hoping to be there (had a dreadful time with work issues getting in the way!) ....?

Not sure which yet. We have tickets which allow for either the Saturday or the Sunday, so we can decide when we get there

I'm thinking Sunday may be the best, as we are camping and travelling back on the Monday. So I don't want to risk the health or my plants too much. One night in a tent may be better than two for them!.

One thing I know even though I wasn't there is that the weather was horrible.

I was at Burnham Nursery yesterday talking to one of their guys who had been there. He said at one point the side of the marquee blew in with the high wind and the stall near the wall was a guy with glass and bronze orchid ornaments and some of them smashed He said mostly it was OK in the marquees otherwise, but horrible outside.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it - 30mins before I was due to leave, my mum collapsed and had to be taken to hospital. Dad was able to take her home after some tests, but, needless to say, my boyfriend and his family decided to cancel and try again next year. As a compensation, I've put an order in with Schwerter for a few babies I've been eye-ing up. Hopefully, they'll be here by the end of the week

..... and Rosie, should we assume that the Burnham trip resulted in some purchases?

Yep back, but straight back to busy

Family first though! and I'm just glad it wasn't too serious!
But now, both Jennyfleur and RosieC now have the challenge of 2012 show!

Show was good. Lots to see and do, like the barely organized chaos of terrier racing, which had us giggling like fools.
Got three Orchids total and currently sorting out the Photos into a more displayable format. (caught some Gurners in the background )
The Orchids purchased were:
Calanthe tricarinata (aka Monkey Orchid - I love monkeys!)
Cattleya intermedia var. coerulea
Cymbidium goeringii (aka Noble Orchid)

So sorry about your Mum Jenny. Family does come first, hope she's OK.

My Burnham trip did result in some new orchids. Planning to get some pics soon. Two large oncidium/brassia types in flower, a restrepia and two seedlings (a Max and an onc).
