Grew up in Miramar, but have lived in Hollywood for the past 30 years.
What do you do for a living?
Currently building pergolas and shade houses for orchids.
What are some of your hobbies (besides orchids)?
Skateboarding (slaom/downhill/longboarding), Surfing, Fishing, Diving, Hiking. I also grow some rare palms, lychee, logan, rare bamboos, bonzais...
Oh, I'm also a mean cook.

Where do you live/Where are you from?
I live in Portland, Oregon. I originally from Japan, came to the United State as a student 23 years ago and ended up staying. All my family members are still in Japan. It has been very difficult for me to go back due to the exchange rate these days.
On the side note, my partner and I are seriously thinking about moving to FL in 5 years.
This picture was taken at a local orchid nursery.
What do you do for a living?
I am a banker. Started my banking career as a Personal banking officer and became a Branch Manager. Having been a Branch Manager for a while, I realized that I am an individual contributor ( i.e. not good at managing people. ). I now am a Treasury Management advisor for Small Business Banking Group. I am planning to go through the CTP ( Certified Treasury Professional ) process this Fall.
What are some of your hobbies (besides orchids)?
Hmmm. That is kind hard.... I do some gardening, however, outside the house is a part of my partner's hobby. We have a Koi Pond in the backyard. I will feed them. Does it count?
Do you have any pets?
Yes! We have two dogs; Molly ( Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier ) & Jamie ( Scottish Terrier ). My name, mollycart came from her.

Where do you live/Where are you from?
I have lived in Broward County, FL for the past 9 years. And I was born in Columbus, Mississippi, mostly grew up in Birmingham, AL.
What do you do for a living?
I am an integration programmer for residential control system (a/v, lighting... etc). I'm grateful I have a job, but I would much rather be doing something with music or plants.
What are some of your hobbies (besides orchids)?
Spending time with my beautiful wife, Louise, and my beautiful son, Judah! Music: singing, piano, guitar. Plants in general. I have a growing collection of terrariums in beautiful glass vessels. When I was a teenager I grew a lot of bonsai trees, so that is pretty much in my blood. I have a few trees now in training for bonsai. Making leather journals. Making things with my hands in general. Climbing trees. Calligraphy.
Do you have any pets?
1 beta fish named Moby. My wife did have her beloved orange cat, Esther, but we had to give her away in order to move into the apartment we now live in.

I live in western Massachusetts now but grew up around New York City. I've also lived in Vermont, Missouri, Nebraska, Sweden and a few other places.
I am a doctor. I work in a university health service, so I have 20,000 "children" plus 2.
My hobbies besides orchids include photography, birding, natural history in general, cross-country skiing, hiking, traveling and knitting.
Pets- that is hard to answer- we have only one vertebrate, a corn snake, and dozens of invertebrates- tarantulas, millipedes, amblypigids, opilionids. They are my husbands. Between his hobby and mine our heating and electric bills are pretty high.
I've been married (to the same man) for 40 years. He puts up with my idiosyncrasies and I put up with his. We have two grown sons.

Where do you live/Where are you from?
I was born in Santa Cruz, California, but grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. I moved to Jacksonville, Oregon in 1990.
What do you do for a living?
I am a financial aid advisor at our local community college. I've been doing that for 21 years. Retirement is looming in about a year....but who's counting?
What are some of your hobbies (besides orchids)?
Besides orchids my other great passion is quilting. I've been cutting up perfectly good pieces of fabric and sewing them back together since 1997. It really puts the creative side of my brain to work since I rarely use it my day to day life. I also love traveling with my husband of 30 years. We aren't very well traveled yet, but there are big plans in a year or two. See question 2 above.
Pets Tucker and Ushi the crazy wiener dogs.
