I spent the whole weekend cleaning the shadehouse, spraying around the outside perimeter with Malathion (keeps the roaches out), and pulling the orchids that are going to new homes tomorrow.
Then hubby and I pulled a bunch of orchids that we decided to pull out of s/h and mount to driftwood. I had been letting the roots grow on some Den seedlings but now they are ready for mounts.
I mounted my Den lawesii, Den bullenianum, Phal Cranberry Queen 'Regal', Phal hieroglyphica 'FAF', Phal equestris var leucaspis, Phal equestris, 2 Phal Green Star, Pleuro grobyi, and Onc sphacelatum. I have one more to go but I was too worn out and my driftwood pile is pretty depleted.
I need to mount my Peristeria elata x self but it will need a choice piece of driftwood. I have tasked hubby to go to the river and find a goody piece.
By getting all of these mounted, I am making room for my Phrags and Dens coming SOON!
Oh and I discovered buds on one of my Dens (tag popped off-will have to check my orchid journal). YAY!!
Waiting still sucks, but the day went by quickly.
