The use of fertilizer is sometimes used after harvesting to promote moss growth which in return encourages weeds.

Uh no, not for sure,1 is much to small to make it out, secondary leaves just poped up 2 days ago.
But the one in the first shotty photo looks like some kinda pine.
Weeds do keep crossing my mind too, like I need more of those
Anyways I'll grow them out bit more, cuz I'm just curious.
