Default Storm last Night

Whoa....it was quiet then my dog started barking like someone was breaking into the house!

The wind came so fiercely from the west that it knocked over a huge clay pot I HAD with an iron plant stand in it. Broke the pot sending 2 chids in tree firn pots into the pool. I fished them out, got soaked since rain followed the wind and moved anything that might go swimming too. Guess I was lucky. All my plant stands have my chids bungeed to the shelf they are on. Thanks to a friend for the idea a couple years ago. Sure saved them last night.

Sun is out this morning and clean-up was easier than I thought it would be

That was strong wind! I had never heard or though of the idea of tying orchids down, with bungees or other. Looks like they saved you a huge cleanup job!

Bungeeing orchids to shelves... What a great idea. Sorry about your broken pots. Hope orchids are ok.

Update...apparently we had a weak tornado touch down 1 block from me. That was a close call. It uprooted a tree that landed on a roof and another on a car. No one hurt thank goodness

Wow! That sounds serious. Bungee tying orchids would not help withstand tornado. I am glad nobody got hurt.

Yikes Lorraine! Hope no one was hurt! There's weird weather everywhere it seems. Glad you were able to rescue your plants from the pool. I hear they don't swim very well.
