In the lab of entomology where I work it is customary for new employees to have their photo taken to go up on 'The Wall', with all the others. One of the nice things about these pics is that they ask you to bring an object which best defines you. Well in my case it's obviously an orchid! Now the problem is that I don't have anything in bloom at the moment (except for a mini). But you would agree that this is easily fixable, right?
So I went to the garden center, and found a beautiful Brassia in the clearance rack (for 5€
). The only problem is that it's not very colorful and might not turn out well in the pic. Then a beautiful pink-bronze phal catches my eye which would be perfect, but there's no way for me to put down the Brassia, the pot is 'glued' to my hand!
So I got both!
Sorry for the bad phal pic, I need to try again in daylight, but I couldn't wait until tomorrow!
Only problem with the phal is that it's potted in hard packed sphag and SOIL.
Peeked at the roots before buying and luckily they're OK. I'll repot it this weekend.
