I used a nickname affectionately coined by my former father-in-law. God rest his soul. My middle name is June and it's the name I've always gone by. The "bug" part seemed to be appropriate because of my long term fascination with critters, creepy crawlies, and plants. "Junie" or "Little Junie" were my childhood nicknames, and I never liked either one.

Mine is a misspelling of "Anggrek," which is the Indonesian word for orchid. I chose it because it sounds cool.

'Jennyfleur' simply comes from my full name 'Jennifer'. It's really thanks to my other half/ partner/ boyfriend etc (i.e. whatever the current P.C term is!! *sigh* it'll be a lot easier when we're officially engaged, I'll only have one option then!) - knowing that I didn't like Jennifer as much as Jenny, he started calling me Jennfleur after only a few dates. Now it's just Fleur or Flower, which fits just fine considering how many plants I have around
BTW this a great thread idea!

I am afraid that I too didn't really think about a name.. It's my 'real' name even though not a usual one even in Italian (which is my nationality)

I had always heard about the dangers of using my real name online, so I had to find something else. Right before I joined this site 5 and some odd years ago I was a member of a yahoo group on the lord of the rings and I had chosen the name Tindomul as my name there. He is one of the 9 black riders that try to catch Frodo in the movies and books. Actually I had intended to play a little joke on the lotr yahoo group and have multiple sign ons each with the name of one of the nine riders. So my original orchid board name was Tindomul1of9. I am also known as Khamul1of9 or just Khamul in other boards. I never got to use the other 7 names. So um, thats where my name comes from. It goes with the avatar and the font I use on orchid board.

Years ago when I got my first horse, a Trakehner, I moved her to a boarding barn called Shadyside.
Hence the name Shadytrake. It stuck and I've been using it ever since.

Mine is the initials of my grandkids' first names from oldest to youngest. I thought it would be easy to remember.

Mine started when I created my email address on compuserve in 1995. The t and r are the initials from my first and second names. My last name is Doyle which is where the dyl comes in. At the time I did not realize that it is phonetically pronounced turtle until about a year later. I guess I am a little slow in some ways but not many. The pun was intended! So when I joined OB, AOS Forum, The Orchid Source, and Ray's Forum that is what I used.

I've had many different names on different forums and it was getting confusing. I collected Heddon Zara fishing baits and used the name "zarahedd". When I was into skateboard racing, it was "Scabs". When on fishing forums, I used my shrimp boat's name "old salt".
I've been doing Pest Control for over twenty years and in 2001 I applied, and received, a registered trademark "got ants?".
Now on all the different places I go, its just "got ants?" or if they don't allow symbols in a user's name, it's "gotants".
btw, I have since relenquished my fear of having my real name out there. Its.........
