Death of Brian Rittershausen
I know that this is a world wide forum, but who hasn't started their orchid book collection with at least one of his and his wifes books on their bookshelf.
I have just heard the sad news that Brian Rittershausen of Burnhams Nurseries UK has passed away.
He will be missed.

"The Practical Encyclopedia of Orchids" by Brian and Wilma Rittershausen was one of my first orchid books. It has good information and beautiful photography. He and his wife were a great orchid team. This is sad news for the orchid world.

To be honest I've not read his or his wife's books but their nursary, Burham, is one of my favourite places to buy from and the only orchid nursary I've ever visited.

So sorry to hear that. I didn't even know it, but yes my first orchid book was by him and his wife. I just found out now. A very well written book and its sad that he is now gone. Thank you for the news.

Me, too. It was one of my first books. I'm certainly sorry to hear of yet another loss in the orchid world. My condolences to his family and friends.
