The amount in writing should be closer to a few headlines than reading a whole newspaper. Keep it mostly visual - photos, drawings, maps, charts, plants or other objects. Do what interests you so you enjoy researching it. That's what will keep it fresh and interesting. Don't worry wowing about the judges, just inform or entertain.
