We've had her two and a bit years and she's called Jess

Whippet would have been my second guess. I found a lost dog and thought him to be a whippet but I was told that he was a Italian Greyhound. We put a ad. in the local newspaper and the owner came and got him.

Well, I don't think you can really KNOW a person from one picture, so I thought I'd upload a few, to let you know about me over my life. This first one is from when I was young and naive, but my mother loved me:
http://www.orchidboard.com/community...umbs/273-6.jpg

As I got a little older I learned about taking care of my hair just as I was entering my "vampire" goth stage:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...childhood1.JPG

I was part of the "in" crowd in high school, as my yearbook photo clearly shows:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...bs/image-5.jpg

I matured into a fine, young man ready to go out and conquor the world. Here I am just out of college and getting ready to go on a job interview:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...s/image-04.jpg

Once I actually had a job, I was convinced that I would be able to save the world:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...bs/image-1.jpg

I have been married more than once, but here I am , with my current wife, in a picture taken at our wedding:

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...umbs/275-3.jpg

And now I'm just a tired old man, who has managed to survive a long life of heartache and disappointment, as you can see:

I'd really recommend hiking up there if you are ever in this area. The Adirondacks are the largest state park in the lower 48; apparently you can fit all the other big state parks inside it with room to spare. And yep, Morris is on a mission to explore every square inch. He never seems to get tired...

The Great Lakes area is terrific .. some great hiking .. also High Peaks Region ..
- Lake Placid, New York - High Peaks Region
I hiked a few years ago .. It is near Lake Placid .. (some campers were attacked by bears because they didn't secure their food items ... stupid people! :dumb:)
Lake George is a great base camp as I have also white water rafted down the head waters of the Hudson River at the Wild Waters Rafters - White Water Rafting On The Hudson River: White Water Rafting & Kayaking Programs In The Adirondacks
One of the nicest rivers with (5+) rapids - I'll plan a trip if anyone is interested ... ;)

I've been reading where the GHOST Orchid gets visited by people that come from all around the world thank GOD that its my back yard or close enough one hour and a half to get there, then you need to be crazy enough to walk in of the main hiking trails

I just now found this thread!

I don't get pictures taken too often, and they usually turn out horrible when I do. It's kind of lame, but this is the most recent pic I have of myself that is presentable. It is one of my grad pics, taken almost 2 years ago now. This is a scan, and it has a bunch of dust on it... lol.

Thanks Rosie, I did get it to pop up after a bit but my internet wasn't working properly to tell you all so. Not sure why, but it had the case of the "slows" last night. :)

Shirley 04-03-2010 09:50 PM

Nice to see your photo, Susanne. I see the results of your very hard work daily and it is much appreciated. Good to attach your smiling face to the name!
