I drove / carpooled to Neptune NJ orchid show. Wish I had more time. traffic to Holland tunnel was insane, and I was sleepy that day. Anyway saw some nice plants. Not everything I was really interested like Dendrobium laevifolium or some Latourias. I really wanted a Cattleya aclandiae but $22 was out of my budget. But when I saw the Oak Hill stand I loved it. Had really many deals. 3 young plants in a bag for 10 $. So I got Encyclia cordigera [love encyclias] and came with Laelia purpurata and Den. stratiotes. then the guy gave me a Cattleya guttata + a Cattleya leopoldii [very similar but these and the aclandiae are maybe my favorite Cattleyas]. for $15 [knocked 5 $ off] and to make it 30 total I bought a clump of Gongora tricolor [5$] that was actually multiple plants divisions that i can pot in 3 different pots/baskets in different conditions and maybe trade or give away one. Well if I had not seen Oak Hill probably I would have bought just one plant for 20 $ from these guys from Brazil. I regret not having bought the Vanda cerulea that was 3 plants in one for 5$ and maybe a Brassavola... but well budget / budget and space.
