I know, it was stunning! I didn't see any for sale and to be honest I've heard they are really difficult so I don't think I would have risked it... I had made so many purchases of things I don't know how to grow anyway
I drool over them every time I see one! There's no way I could even entertain the idea of actually growing them without building a cold room so I'll just enjoy the ones I see from afar
More picies!!! So, here is my next batch of pictures, from the stand of Cheshire and North Wales Orchid Society.
Their veitchianna really took my eye. The pic below only shows 3 flowers but there were actually 7, I just couldn't get an angle that showed them all well.
I loved the Sedirea japonica and that had gone really high on my wishlist.
East Midlands Orchid Society arrived late and were still finishing their stand as we left... but it was still the best stand in my opinion.
So you have to imagine that the white mat they were setting up on had been completely covered with bark (which they were starting to do as I left) and that the spare pots and bags have been cleared away.
It was actually quite fun watching them set it up. Nicky and I sat chatting while we watched for a while.
Finally some general shots taken at the show. The first is one of the vendors stands and three of the orchids in the shot came home with me This section was much more sparsly populated by the time we went back to collect our plants.
Nicky, the third pic is that peloric Phal you liked the look of.
I'm not really a fan of all the heads on the wall, but they were part of the day.
