That's so true about the "nubbin" as she coined that word, didn't she? We had so much fun with her about that. She had such a wonderful outlook. Whenever she wrote in a post, you always knew there was a smile behind it. You know? Her spirit lives on.

I, along all of us who knew her for the intelligent, cheerful, joking person she was will miss her dearly.

R.I.P. my friend. It has been a privilege to know you.

The news of Dorothy's passing came as such a shock to me. I had missed her frequent postings, but just thought she was enjoying her new job. Never did it occur to me that she was ill. After reviewing her posts I ran across one in April 2010 where she was cleaning out her things and selling several of her lovely orchid books. My heart sank when I read that thread. It lead me to believe she knew her future. This is so very sad.

This news is a huge shock to me too, I never met her personnally I too remember her applying for the job at the garden centre.
I agree that she was a huge asset to this board - The "expert" at finding answers & links to peoples questions. I miss her on this board and still can't believe this sad news.
My condolences to all of her family.
Riposa in Pace Dorothy.

I can't believe it.

Dorothy was such a great person. It's so horrific that she's left us.

I don't know what else to say, it's still unbelievable.

We will miss you Dorothy!

I've already posted my condolences here but when I noticed Dorothy is listed in todays birthdays, it just brought tears to my eyes all over again.

She'll be missed here for a long time.

Oh Debs, I hadn't noticed that but you are right. Brought tears to my eyes when I read your message.

She is missed by everyone who knew her.

I saw the notice a few days ago and spent ALL of yesterday debating with myself about whether or not to do a Happy Birthday in Heaven thread...it turned out to be too overwhelming a task for me to handle right now but I'm sure our newest Angel is watching down and knows that we're all missing her.

A good friend of ours here on OB is in the process of designing a new avatar for me to place on D's profile...it will be our memorial to a great lady

Sue,

The memorial avatar is a good idea. Dorothy was extra special! What about a dedication to the memory of Dorothy in this years calendar. Would that be possible? I mentioned it in an earlier post but didn't get feedback.

Thanks.
