I can't believe I'm reading this thread, very shocking to hear about the loss of our Dorothy. She was a fun, outgoing and beautiful person. You couldn't have not liked her. Charming crazy wonderful lady.
I have missed her presents for awhile here at the orchid board, its hard to take in knowing she won't be back.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Gone to soon & missed so much ........

I admit that I am not the most active member on this site, but from what I have seen from the times that I have been here, Dorothy was such a open and knowledgeable person who approached subjects in a jovial fashion.
A good portion of the internet community could learn a thing or two from her.

I know how you're feeling, I'm not accepting it either. I think what's especially hard was the suddenness of it all. I sort of wish I knew what happened to her... I remember how happy and bubbly and excited she was when she applied for a job at that garden center in Long Island. I remember how happy she was when she got her cute little french bulldog puppy Gir-l. I wonder who has the dog now? She loved Gir-l so much. But basically that's how a remember Dorothy: HAPPY.
Hard to believe we won't be seeing her unique sense of humor here anymore, and I'll sure miss chatting to her on Facebook.

I remember how excited she was about that job too Camille. It seemed perfect for her. Whatever she didn't know, she went and found out. I do hope we find out what happened to her. It was just such a shock. I think we better all go hug our loved ones. Carol

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Many of us never met Dorothy, but she represented the OB family very well. God speed Dorothy

Condolences to her family, friends, and to all who knew of her on the OB.
I may not have known her at all and have come across her postings very few times, but I was still aware of her contributions here.

Have just seen this and can't believe it - Dorothy was wonderful when I first joined the Board, always happy to post a reply and the first person to be my online friend when that service began. My sincere condolences to her family and all who had the chance to meet her, she was always very funny and special.

Since finding this thread I've been sitting here wondering what I could say that hasn't already been said. I can come up with nothing new, I knew she was sick but thought the worst was over for her and that a recovery was on the way.
I, along all of us who knew her for the intelligent, cheerful, joking person she was will miss her dearly.
Every time I see a "nubbin" I will smile and know that Dorothy is taking care of the orchids in heaven.
R.I.P. my friend. It has been a privilege to know you.

For me there are no words with meaning enough at times like these. Just remember the good moments shared with brightness lost, and her life will continue on.
Though the out pouring of tributes speaks so highly of Dorothy, and I was glad to have had just a taste of her sense of humor.
My condolences to all, especially her family.
