Dorothy was a lovely person. So very nice to all of us on the Board. I really missed her when she suddenly became less active. Now I guess we know she must have been ill. I imagine we will find out eventually. I will never forget her. Carol

I am so sorry for her familys loss and for our loss here on OB. This lady will be sorely missed and forever remembered.

Such sad, sad news. Condolences to all her friends, and her family. I can't seem to find the right words this morning, but I think what I want to say is that I'm glad that, through OrchidBoard, I got to experience her humour, and her encouragement of my little successes here and there.

Well said
I wonder if Dorothy knew just how many lives she touched in such a profound way...her passing is being mourned around the world by people she had never actually met in person...that in itself tells us what kind of special lady she was and will be missed by us all

She touched a lot of people with her compassion and caring ways. She was always willing to help everyone. I'm sad that I never actually met her. I always hoped someday that might happen. But we all knew her thanks to this wonderful site.
Dorothy will be missed. This is a sad sad time.

She was adorable, that's how I always thought of her. She was sensitive and thoughtful and wore her emotions very close to her heart and always seemed to gain more faith after losing the battles. I really admired that about her. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing her. She was a very sweet woman. I'm so very sad by her passing. Gone way too soon.

Some of the best times I've ever had have been here with that wild, wacky, wonderful lady. I just hope all the new friends she has now enjoy and appreciate her as much as we did. Love ya, Dorothy!

Dorothy was the first to welcome me here, answer a question I had, and make me feel welcome. Her vibrance and openness was a force of nature.
Goodbye, my friend.

Super D will be greatly missed here at the OB. She always had a great sense of humor and was always there to answer questions and help with everything including the projects. She was an extraordinary human being. May she rest in peace.
