My thoughts exactly. I missed her when she stopped being a mod for a while. Now I will miss her even more. Dorothy. I hope her family sees this thread and knows that our thoughts are with them.

Oh no! This is very sad news indeed. Dorothy was so kind and knowledgeable and she had the greatest sense of humor. She was a fantastic moderator and her ability to answer any orchid related question never failed to amaze me.

My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to her family and friends. We will all miss her.

I did not know Dorothy as I am new around here...
But it is quite obvious she was a special person.

I did not know her personally because I haven't been a member that long. But I have seen post and responses from her and she seemed like a very nice and special individual. I am sorry for her family, anyone who knew her personally and for all of us here at the OB. Life is way to short!!!

Wow I am so shocked! I can't believe it! She will be greatly missed. I remember I bought some orchids off of her when I was first starting out my collection before I became an OB member. And I remember she started using the word nubbin on the OB that caught on pretty fast...everyone loved the word/term. She will be missed greatly! What a sad day!

Yup...a couple of her priceless contibutions to us...nubbin and

and I still can't believe we are actually having this conversation!

It fells as if everybody with an orchid lost something today, but we can still read her cheerful posts and regain some of what was lost.
