I really wasn't going to buy any more orchids. Not for a long while. Not while pots were competing with the books for space on the shelves in my study. (Direct, west facing, floor to ceiling windows- my cool room...)
Not while guests have to eat TV dinners because of the orchids on the dining table (it's against a floor to ceiling South window, any other indoor grower would do the same)
And space running out elsewhere... But I've fallen off the wagon. Badly.
So, my new acquisitions:
Dendrobium chrysotoxum (I'm trying to not kill this one- I'm not very good with Dens, but that's another post...)
Miltoniopsis. Anneville
Epidendrum Plastic Doll
Oncidium ornithorhynchum
Angraecum sesquipedale (smaller than it's name tag- 4" how cute!)
My excuse for these is that they're all seedlings. And therefore don't really count yet...... but I do know they will someday. I might have moved by the time the Angraecum grows up...? I've got a while to make that decision!
Masdevallia Kimballiana
Restrepia lankasteriana
My Auntie bought me these from a show. It would be wrong to refuse a gift. They also love my cold room...
Phalaenopsis amabilis
Phalaenopsis schilleriana (possibly)
OK, these are the best. My colleague works at Kew Gardens 1 day a week and they were GIVING AWAY some 'excess' from a recent exhibition. He brought these ones back for me. And, you really can tell they have had the pamper treatment from the experts! To refuse these would be really wrong. Even if I'm not really a Phal person.
So, that's my haul.
I thought I may as well share it with some people who might have been in the same place as me...
Please reassure me that I'm not the only one who's done this.
Kay
