Wow, thanks for posting this, Sue! It looks cool! While I'm also nowhere near Oak Hill, I have to say this has given me something to think about: now I'm wondering about rearranging one of my growing shelves so that the lights are hanging vertically down the sides, rather than horizontally across the tops of the shelves. It seems to me that not only could you grow some of the taller species this way, but also you could put the higher-light plants closer to the tubes, and have them shield the lower-light plants closer to the center of the shelf. I guess you'd probably have to turn the plants regularly so they get even light. Hmmmmm.

That is pretty cool! My guess is that with just a bit of care a stand like this could be build at home from items readily available at Home Depot.

It is cool. It would be really easy to build with copper plumbing pipe and fittings. May want to hang 2 2 bulb t8 fixtures on each side., Depending on how wide you wanted to make it.

But please don't use flourescent fixtures Excuse my being nasty but the misspelling of this word is a pet peeve of mine. fluorescent, please.
