Laura visited for lunch today and we couldn't stop talking about our trip to the Grand Opening of June's Orchid Estate
...poor hubby felt the need to leave for a while
I think we might bring lunch and really enjoy the property during our shopping trip

After thinking about what to bring for lunch, I realized there are going to be refreshments at the grand opening...we'll save the lunch date for another day
A few months ago, I was lucky enough to be among aa group of TOC members who met at June's house...and all of our jaws dropped when we walked into the place!
Right in front of us was the huge wardian case that everybody who was at the WOC last year will remember! Yup, right there!
I'll just say now that it was at this moment that I decided I needed to get June to someday adopt me
Ok, back to the big treat:
I realize that most of us here at OB are very visual folks and we all know that none of us can resist a fantastic picture so I asked June if I could share with you some of the I took that day.
I think it will give everybody just a slight indication of what the 16,000 sq ft of new greenhouses...and the huge species TREE!!!...at the new place will look like...enjoy
I'd love to go, but I can't because I don't have a car, and because I'm approaching being broke from my last haul (okay, so I snuck in two extra plants...what of it?)

I wish I had the time to go...and maybe I still will...but I am working on a floor display for the Naples show, which is in two weeks, and I have plenty to keep me busy with that.
Maybe the next time you'all get together I can play too...after the Naples show I only have the Redlands Festival in front of me...I'm doing a demo/presentation there on Vanda culture this year.

Laura and I will be at June's when the doors open on Saturday...plus the Tampa Orchid Club is doing a field trip there for our March meeting (by the way, the TOC Auction at USF is on March 13th...it's gonna be a BLAST!!!)...AND...my friend Linda and I will be at Redlands! When are you speaking? I can't miss that!
If I get enough work done on my display tomorrow, I might (slight possibility) be at June's on saturday. I would love to see her new nursery, and I want to tell her I have the only awarded clone of the acsocenda named after her...Ascda. June Simpson 'David's Purple Passion' AM/AOS.
As for the Redlands, my talk will be on Sunday morning at 10:30 in the auditorium. It will be my first truely public speaking gig, so I hope it turns out well. ...is there a smiley that is biting its nails?...that would be me.
