I have actually (in the last couple of years) been reading the opposite, especially in the case of orchids and bromiliads - that they are very beneficial to have in your bedroom (tho the specifics escape me ? I think it was due to their respiratory cycle - releasing more oxygen at night perhaps? - I don't know how true it is)
