Default Back Home From Florida

What a trip! 4400 miles (or so), a new universal joint in the truck, depleted credit cards, 6 new orchids, a good tan (no burns here), new pots, cork bark, orchid baskets, many air plants (tillandsias), and about 10 gigs of photos. More to come later regarding the photos.

My son took care of the 'chids while I was gone and a fine job he did! Have new blossoms, new growths, a bulbo broke dormancy (a miracle!), others in spike (that I will follow up on when the dust settles here) and now I find a new contest that Tin and I are at a disadvantage!

New Orchidarium still not here (due this month some time). Retrofit aquarium is showing signs of wear, but occupants are doing fine (generally).

I strongly recommend an extended vacation, especially for those of us in the northern latitudes. For the Central Florida folks (like 1/3 the membership!) you don't appeciate what you have till you get back to 40 degrees plus temps and high winds. Just great! All you Florida folks remember us northerners (including all the fine Canada folk) when you go out and throw a steak on the barbeque.

Gonna be a hot one this year, winter if you want to call it that was merely a spring day up north. Gotta have the base to prevent the burn. Where in sunny Fl are you Charles????

3 weeks! One just getting there and visiting relatives, 1 in Marathon (Keys) and 1 getting back home by way of relatives.

I got a sunburn yesterday. I went to the beach. Sure, it was 60 degrees, foggy, and was on a northern long island beach. I was hunting for fossils, and when I got home, I had red cheeks and a red nose.
