A recent duh...

I recently got a Dendrobium bicaudatum and canaliculatum. The lady I got it from suggested to repot them in charcoal and tree fern shreddings.

As soon as I got home I immediately repot them, nothing special with the session but afterward as soon as I water them, my mom screamed!

She just cleaned the balcony and I made a mess with the black water and loose tree fern shreddings that ran off beneath the pots.

I ended off cleaning the balcony again for her... Afterward went to a massage parlor because my back ached

Formula 409 is a great way to kill scale. I grabbed the 409 bottle and sprayed a couple of orchids. I smelled a weird odor that was not 409 and asked hubby if he had mixed something else in the 409 bottle. He didn't think so, but I stopped anyway and rinsed those orchids off. Prepared some Dr. Bronner's soap for the other orchids.

The next morning, those 2 orchids were dead as a doornail. Apparently the 409 bottle had a bleach solution in it. DANG! Thankfully I had the good sense to stop. I knew I smelled bleach in there.

Good thing those 2 orchids were on the "bloom or toss" list. We were giving them one more season before giving up and tossing.

Still, good reminder to ALWAYS mark the bottles and don't cross the mixes.

A non-orchid Duh moment...

On Monday, I had my compulsory visa application interview at the US consulate so the Friday before it I prepared all the documents the consular interviewer might ask and on Sunday I was rechecking whether I had all that I might need and couldn't find the 5cm x 5cm passport photo that they asked. I swore I put it in the folder that I used to hold all of the documents.

Half panicking (Well, full blown panicking), I went to my office looking for it. After turning my desk and shelves upside down to no avail, I gave up and went to get my photo taken again. Went home to grab my wallet and passport and While waiting at the photo studio, I opened my passport and tucked in the passport cover there were the photos I was looking for!!!

Profusely apologized to the photo studio for canceling and went home. My mom and sister laughed at me...

If you're asking whether I was successful, just received my passport back... With USA visa label glued on a page!

I was repotting, first one went by, I did good, second went by, I was in a bit of hurry, I accidentally broke off new leaf , argh! Smacking my head n said D-UH!!! I was so mad at myself... New leaf just sprouts recently whew. That was like umm past few months ago... Been a while... I'm very big KLUTZ regarding my deafness, I tend to have terrible with balance myself...

just got a phal Tetraspis seedling it had 3 nice leaves, one was flopping over the other so I thought id move it a bit. now only has 2 leaves hopefully it'll live if I stop fiddeling with it, still might order another in case
