Question OrchidWiz Compatible With Windows 7

Anybody know? The other half is building a new computer with Windows 7. If it's not I'll leave it on the old puter. Thanks.

If it's 32-bit Windows 7 then pretty much all programs which run on Vista will be OK.

If it's 64-bit Windows 7 then you may have more problems.

I have quite a few programs which work on my 32-bit Windows 7 at home but not on my 64-bit Windows 7 at work.

On the other hand Windows 7 Ultimate and Business versions have something called 'XP Mode' which can then run those programs.

I don't know about Orchid Wiz, but that's my experience with Windows 7.

This might be a little off topic for this thread, but do you folks who use Windows 7 like it better/worse/same as Vista? Just curious! Thanks!

I would say it's vastly superior to Vista. It's faster and easier to use, and I haven't had a single compatibility issue with any of my software or devices. Smooth sailing from day one. Lots of great intuitive features, but for me the single greatest improvement is in terms of performance.

Good to know as I've been wondering if I should switch from Vista. Last question, did they change MS Office too? I never liked the new version of MS Word that came with Vista and I'm wondering if it is better too.

You got MS Word with Vista? In Canada, unless you get a package deal when you buy a new computer, you have to buy the MS Office suite separately from the operating system. I am using Office 2007, which was released the same year as Vista. As of yet, there hasn't been a newer version released.

In case you don't know, Windows Mail, Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker, and a few other pack-in programs for Vista were removed from Windows 7. You now have to download them separately (for free) as part of the Windows Live Essentials suite, and you can choose which programs you want. The new Windows Live Mail program is improved over Windows Mail, I think.
