Melissa,
Thank you for sharing your pics.... The Coelgyne is so cute, as is the Asco. Your Den. victoria-reginae looks like a seed pod, if I am not mistaken....cool! The Max has the most interesting foliage. Are the leaves spotted? It's late, so I could be delirious... orchids do that to me

Yes that is a seed pod and the Max is spotted. It is neat looking. I almost lost the Max to a case of mold but it came back fine.

SOB!! I broke off the spike on my Pot. Creation yesterday when I was watering. This was a rescue from last year that was really struggling. At least I know it's in better health. Maybe it will try and bloom again in the spring. I'm so mad at myself!!!

Here are a few more.

I got the Phrag. Sorcerer's Fire, the Onc. Gold Dust, and the Bulb medusae today at our OS meeting with Marilyn LeDoux from Windy Hill (St. Louis).

The Prosthecea boothiana has 3 spikes that I take credit for as well as the Burr Stefan Isler.

What's Spiking At Your House? Female
Default

I have nothing in spike now. I have two phals that i have cut the spike off about a month ago, which at the moment are doing nothing (apart from growing leaves).
1 Phal i have is still in flower.

My dend has a couple of new plants popping out from the bottom.

My 2 paphs are still growing new baby plants at the side. I'm hoping that all these signs of growth are promising, but this will be my first "Home bloom" as i bought them all in flower at varying times over the summer.

And my miltoniopsis is in intensive care after a case of root rot, so i'm not expecting to see anything from her for a while!

Does it sound like good news is on the horizon?

x

Here is a list of my current spikers.

Phal. 'Summer Beach' 1 small spike.

Noid Ascd. 2 spikes with one beginning to bloom.

Rhyncostylis gigantea Red 2 1" spikes

My little noid Catt. rescue has 1 spike with 3 buds.

Catasetum pileatum 'Oro Verde' 1 tiny spike (nubbin). I purchased this one in mid-September 2009 and it's already bloomed twice. The plant would more than likely be dormant if it weren't for the consistent local record high temps.

My Sharry Baby just completed a 4 spike blooming session and now she's sporting a new 6 inch spike.

Oncidium Noid (probably 'Sweet Sugar) is always in bloom or spike or both. She's currently finishing up with the last remaining spike of 6 and has one newer spike blooming and 2 newly emerged spikes.

My Noid Vanda who used to have the reputation of being a stubborn bloomer has finally got her act together. She's sporting her 4th consecutive spike this year and has now become a "blooming machine."

Lc. Joann Amos has 2 sheaths that are getting ready to pop open. (1st blooms under my care) I'm so excited!!

My Onc. Twinkle 'Fantasy Fragrance' has been teasing me with her torturous display of 15 spikes for nearly 3 months now.

One of my favorite scented noid Dendrobiums surprised me today with 2 tiny nubbins. It usually blooms only once in the Spring so this was a nice surprise.

This is the first year I've had the chance to keep orchids for awhile and bring them into bloom by myself on windowsills, definately a happy dance Last winter I grabbed a bunch of $2 markdown Phals as an experiment to see if I could get lucky and convince them to survive and grow roots, lots of learning, the blooms are few and small but 1 dark pink one is in full bloom and 2 others are on their way. I'm watching the roots to make sure they don't start to have problems, if they do the blooms can get cut and go in a vase. I'd rather have them grow bigger and happier! Hopefully spikes may show up on the others or next year they will bloom. I also have a Paph Hsinying Maru x Incantation with a lovely purplish bloom and the buds on my Brassavola Nodosa Little Stars are just starting to open. Can't wait to see how it smells. Each day my husband gets shown what new things are happening (he's supportive but definately not excited), it's so exciting and way too fun!
