Live "Halloween" MOTH Male
Question Live "Halloween" MOTH

I live in the tropical zone (S-E Asia) and spotted this most unusual moth tonight with a striking/splendid coloring/pattern. It reminds me of a mask with orange eyes so I have named it "Halloween Moth"!! I have lived here for many years, but this is the 1st time I sighted this beauty. Would anyone know it's name or be able to guide me to a website where identification might be possible? In any case, here a shot of this HALLOWEEN beauty!

Cheers, Michael

Cool Moth. Here's a website I use when I need a ID of a insect or bug. Although lately I have not been able to receive response. What's That Bug? Insect identification
Good luck.

I can check it out for you if you want. I'm doing my Msc thesis in the entomology department of my university, and one of the professors might be able to ID for you. What's the size of it? Looks like a type of hawk moth.

Cool moth!

I think Camille is right that it is a type of hawk moth. I've seen moths here with the same colors, but that is a really neat pattern you found there!

That's a really interesting moth and a great photo! I would love to find out what it is, also. Thanks for posting
