I am also glad I found OB!
I was getting overwhelmed about all the info out, but I couldn't ask about my own situation, environment, and all. Here I can ask freely and some are always eager to help .. I mix & match opinion with my own guts and knowledge and my orchids look great! In the other hand, I love to talk about my hubby ...and is no one around! So, it feels good to have a place where to find bunch of freaks like me  |
Oh wow, I honestly don't remember (long time ago!) why I joined this forum instead of the others! I think this one was the most modern and fun. It also seems like the best growers on social media were here. Now so many folks join the Facebook hobby groups (myself included) for discussion, but OB still certainly has a place. I like this site is searchable. I can do a Google search for old threads, which can be handy.

I've been growing orchids using the same practices for over 40 years. After reading a few threads here I realized that they needed to be updated.

Someone once said to me that orchids are hard to grow. I started just to prove him wrong.
Most people say they are hard to grow, but really these plants are incredibly hardy. Once you get the knack for it, adding one or eight more is easy and rewarding. There's something cool about seeing their roots creep through pots or reach into the air or turn bright green in water. Soaking my orchids is way more personal than watering my other plants with a can; it's almost as if the orchids are more like animals than plants. _____ ᐉ ApiX-Drive — Official website • Online connector #1 |
