Default off topic ID help

so since ya'll are so knowledgable in the plant area, Iwas hoping you can all help me figure out what this plant is.

its over 20 years old. Been in the family that long. Had some good days, some bad days...right now is a mediocre day

I don't recall it ever blooming in any way, just shooting out babies on the bottom

my hand is 6 inches long, for a comparison on the size.

oh, yes, there is a lot of damage... it takes quite the beating. I saved it from the trash about 5 years ago, and its my most neglected plant... poor thing.

I'm hoping it IS a brom, and it could make it in the terrarium

It's one of the many selections of Sansevieria trifasciata or Mother-In-Laws Tongue.

Oh, I forgot, it is a succulent and can get large...I don't think a terrarium would work .

Swanwillow has had it for 20 years. If it was to get large, Swanwillow would know that by now. Perhaps its a miniature Sansevieria. I've never heard of that though. I have no idea what it is. Possibly in the same family as Sansevieria.

exactly-its at LEAST 20 years old...

I don't think my parents even know how old it is!!!

I did think it was a succulent, but it does not tolerate sun at all. it gets sunburn SO badly, and its leaves don't act like succulent leaves.

Trust me, its a Sanseviera...I have the same one! Some get large, others are smaller....your's is what we call Birds nest succulent because it forms rosettes rather than tall, upright leaves. If you gradually expose it to more sun, it will tolerate full blazing sun but they can also tolerate considerable shade. The more sun, the more stiff and succulent the leaves become. They do bloom, but need the blazing sun to do so. Just google search the species I suggested and you will find the dwarf, rosette-forming variety you have.

more pics, this time of a baby offshoot and the root system... its been in the same pot for a LONG time, same 'soil' and its in a peat like mix, kinda like a solid peice where the roots are growing, but broken down farther away

so, since I have your attention...

what should I repot this into? standard succulent mixture? treat it like any other succulent?

I am finding pictures similar to it, but this one is so much smaller... maybe lack of something...

or, its slightly different from what I'm finding.. never know, eh?
