i was talking to a friend yesterday regarding my haul... i am injecting the orchid virus to her - it might work... she has an epi seedling now, from me of course and i'm planning to give her some den keikis later. she say i should consider doing side business - chids of course! i am thinking about it too.... maybe you can consider that too hedge!
charmkp, that is most probably my greatest haul but i might not be able to purchase anymore in months. local nurseries here are withholding new orchid stock till the holidays. it might be till the recession is over too

Just make sure you take photos of them at this stage, so that when they bloom you can show them off... before and after that is.

Orchid addicts, UNITE!!!
I joined OB with 1 sad little phal. I now have 19, with around 70 on the wish list, so far. If it weren't for the Orchid Board, I would have none. The original phal is dead, it grew a keiki, but I must have gotten water in the crown and not known, it's gone too. I am so glad for the OB! Without everyone here and the wonderful pictures being shared everyday, I wouldn't have known so many beautiful orchids exist. I wouldn't have known the wonderful feeling of blooming an orchid myself. I wouldn't have smelled the sweetness of a Sharry Baby. Before Orchid Board, I didn't know how wonderful it is to be an orchid grower.
Am I an addict? ABSOLUTELY!! I'm loving every minute of it! It helps having the awesome people on Orchid Board to cheer you on and share with! I love you, man!
It's also nice to have people see my little collection and want orchids for themselves.

I'm with you Amanda. I joined with just one sick Phal (which is still slowly recovering). Now I have just received number 18 from my Mum today and I've lost count of how many are on the wish list.
I have falled in love with Phals, but because of Orchid Board I have also ventured into others including Paph, Miltonia & Miltoniopsis, Den and Masdi.

i join the club with 3 seedlings & 3 mature dens. well, actually the nursery assistant persuaded me to buy after he see me looking at chids so many times admiring their beauty. i was scared becoz i hear lots of chid myths : they are expensive, not easy to care, don't flower much etc etc. and also come with lots of mosquitoes form my experience. but hey, the love blossomed (i think i have about 300 now) as predicted by an aunty visiting her daughter when i was hospitalised last year! and no mosquitos!

Hello. Is this the room where O.A.meets?O.K. My name is Brad, and I am an addict. For a long time I was in denial, but as we all here know, denial ain't just a river in Egypt.Soooo,I've learned to live unfettered by guilt and denial recently by reducing my wish list down to 3 or 4 more species[for now].This pushes my total to near 100 but hey, besides my wife, who's counting? The only down-side concerns that pesky camera I need to replace.Maybe a second job....

Hi, my name is Rolando and I acquired my first orchid back in April 2007. I've been trying to control myself lately but non the less my collection is over 300 plants with no repeats and counting. I know it's bad but they make me happy. It's a good addiction.

Some years ago DH had about eight or ten orchids. He became very busy at work for a time, and asked me to care for them. I was terrified that I would kill them. I did kill one very nice paph. However, you all know what happened, don't you? I fell in love with them and became an addict. Now he is back to orchids again. It is dangerous having two addicts in one house! Carol
