Default My flasking adventures... uh oh

hello peeps, some of you and some may not know that i have recently bought some flasks off eBay (ajorchids is wonderful ) well i got the two flasks of seedlings in great shape (well they were DEFLASKED when i got them... but had only been so for like 5 days so i still say flask ) anyway these are my first flasklings so i'm very, very nervous my goal right now is to keep them alive right now i have all 7 compots in a 10 gallon aquarium over grow lights and now the wait begins to see if they flourish or die Two of the compots are Vandopsis gigantea IOSPE PHOTOS and the other FIVE compots are a Stanhopea species, which according to the seller is anfracta or a similar species IOSPE PHOTOS

and now to show you the severity of my disease i have 15 flasks reserved at Troy Meyers (Troy is the debbil)

so hows some pics i took while i was compotting them enjoy

Looks good enough to eat

Great job. When I see cases like yours, I thank the man that I live in Canada and am therefore prevented from participating in such activities such as ordering from troy meyers Ordering seed from Aaron Hicks on the other hand....you know you want to

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
flasking is scary LOL. but i shall attempt it eventually. Hicks has sooooo many awesome seeds

Well it's almost been a week since i've had the compots... and only a little bit of leaf browning (i hope it's nothing ) i have seen that the vandopsis seedlings have grown a little so maybe i can keep them alive and i can keep the 15+ reservations i have at Troy Meyer's without panicking when they're ready to be shipped

Congratulations they look great!

Raising seedlings from flask is really fun but I do have to ask what you intend to do with them once they get large? And the seedlings do get large and demand more space and bigger pots

Brooke

oh Brooke.... my insanity doesn't allow for such restrictions as "space" theres ALWAYS more room

but in all seriousness i'm not gonna keep them all.... once they get a bit larger they're gonna be shipped to orchid buddies (of course i shall keep a few..... dozen) but thats the plan LOL
