Newbies from the Utrecht orchid show
I'm been looking forward to this show for the last 6 months, ever since the last one. Surprisingly for a country that loves orchids, this is pretty much all there is show wise, and they're quite small shows too.
Anyways, I had a great time and came home with 4 new orchids. The first 2 were free, all the visitors to the show received them. One is Oncidium Twinkle 'Yellow Spring', and the other is Propetalum Mathina, which is a cross between a Zygo and a Promenea. Mine are not in bloom, so i took pics of the ones on display. Then I was a good girl and only bought two others! I got Paph pinocchio, one year from blooming, and Phal I-Lan Green Pixie. This one was the best deal ever, there are three plants in the pot, for only 8€!

Camille, the plants are beautiful! The little Phal's look so happy! BTW, does the pixie have smell?
I want to share something Camille did for me. She asked for me the free plants too and she got them! That's too kind from her, don't you all think so?
As Zygo's tend to smell, I wonder if the Propetalum smell's too? Any idea?

I really like your choices. How big is the Phal I-Lan Green Pixie?

Lovely plants and photos, Camille. Thanks for sharing with us. That last photo is great -- makes me want to be there to see it. I'm amazed at the number of basket plants. You wouldn't see that here but none of our shows are held in conservatories either.

It's a pretty small phal, the largest plant's largest leaf is only 10cm, and the blooms are a bit over 2cm wide. No fragrance yet, but we'll see in a few days!
I don't know if the Propetalum is fragrant or not, I didn't smell the one I took picture of. Mine won't be blooming size for another couple of months at least.
I have pics of the show and botanical gardens here:

That last pic is fantastic. Thanks for sharing these with us.
I noticed the large wood vanda type baskets. Are the plants potted in them, or are the pots just placed in there for display? They look interesting to me. I have some little Tolu pots placed together in a 12" vanda basket. They are used as a centerpiece.
