Thanks for the info...I like the idea that it must link back to the original page. I don't like seeing photos without the owner's credit attached.

I must give my on the whole subject though...

we have members here who are just barely getting comfortable with joining a forum...or posting pictures on the internet at all...and the process needs to be easy to do (and explain) Start talking about formatting buttons and some folks won't get it or even want to try.

I'm sorry hear that you dislike the way photos are displayed here

ok, now it had worked... but to be honest... even if it looks nice, it is so complicated typping or copying and pasting the [url=..........[/url] (sorry, but I did not managed to get that filled in automatically with any OB button, that I think I will keep posting links like http://www.flickr.com/photos/2889501...7606303433643/ and people will jsut have to open it in a different window or tab... same as I (Mac User) have to do with the pictures posted...

anyway, Thanks a lotfor the information... it was a very nice and informative excersize

I disagree, if they're uploading pictures to flicker in the first place, they are capable of following the instructions.

There is no need to remember the code. The forum software has a quick link button. When replying to a post, see the button that looks like mountains with a sun? Press it and post the link that flicker provides.

Myself, I prefer photobucket.

Kyle

That's exactly what I have done, and this is the result:

the picture does not link to Flickr's page...

or is this another feature in the new OB which is not 100% compatible with Mac?

kavanaru...you've completed step 1 and step 2 but you haven't completed step 3...

Grab the URL for your photo page on flickr, highlight/select the image text in your message body, click the button and paste the photo page URL into the dialogue box

The instruction was there before...but now it has the image...

Like they say...a picture is worth a 1000 words!

To save a couple seconds you can just right click on the flickr image and copy the image URL/location...instead of having to retrieve it from the All Sizes page. Not sure if right clicking on an image to copy its URL works in mac though.
