Pyrex and orchids: Blown glass thread Male
Default Pyrex and orchids: Blown glass thread

I've been reading this board and playing around with a few ideas that arise. You can see where I started in the introduction thread here. (The cliff notes is that I'm a glass blower making fun stuff for orchids)

Now I'm getting good feedback, looking to do some trading, and still studying and growing my appreciation for this addicting hobby. Meanwhile, as requested, this is a thread for pics and chat about blown glass possibilities.

These are my new pots. The black one is 4 1/2 in tall, and the blue is 4 in. Let me know what you think!

Here are some hanging globes for miniatures. After some good advise, I will now be making them with a small hole(s) at the bottom.

Here is my first Phal and pot. White, yellow and purple to match the flowers. And of course, holes in the bottom for drainage. Real orchid: Only the pot is glass in this one.

This is the first glass orchid I made. Breaking it down into dimensions I realized what complex beings orchids are.

That's wonderful work. I am curious what happens when the plant becomes pot-bound? Or is the idea to put a plastic pot inside?

It all looks great...I just LOVE your work

I'm going to move this thread into the OrchidLounge forum. Not a big deal but I don't want it to get lost in the project thread.

The Member Project forum is exclusively for the orchid-growing projects that our members participate in.
