Playing hooky paid off! Located 13 Ghost orchids and 3 in spike and one of them with 2 spikes. Also found several Epidendrum amphistomum (dingy flowered star orchid) in both forma The ruberifolium is very striking.

just got back from a hell of a trip I hiked thru some heavy densed jungle woods swamp I mean sometimes I had a tough time lifting my legs just to make my next step, but like all my trips in Fakahatchee it was no less than OUTSTANDING! almost stepped on 2 poisonous snakes I mean close calls but thats part of going to the swamp heres some pics of some new GHOST Orchids I also was alone on this trip.....ENJOY

Oh the first snake is a racer or everglades racer. non venomous. They don't usually hang around for a picture. Nice.

I didnt see you I went in on gate 7 if you where to the north I missed the truck ,dave about the pro.... the ghost motel It is way to close to the road as long as the ghost's dont become a part of the film ORCHID THIEF you know dave once they disappear were going to have some real disappointed people In the swamp,the motel is called by the PARK Rick's Slough he's the one with the ladder in the slough look up his sight on the INTERNET Rick Cruz...he's got 1,000$ photos of GHOST orchids

He has shot of the same ones I found?
Haven't seen his ladder either, although I found yours.

I checked his site out and didn't see anything recognizable. He definitely photo shops is pictures. Most of the colors are not right. beautiful photos.

they say theres 29 mature Ghost's we took the park biologists measuring stick made of PVC piping one pvc inside the other we got one Orchid at 21 1/2 feet up hard to see with your eyes without a pair of binocalors sorry I cant spell binoca????????? did you find any new ghost's or just visiting your old friends
