Woke up to new arrivals.
I got woken up this morning by the post man knocking on the door, I grabbed my robe and staggered down the stairs by which time my hubby was at the door, and wooohoooo 2 boxes to open. They are some of my Ebay purchases, I got a Rossioglossum grande and a Paph. Micranthum off one seller but when I opened the box there were 3 orchids there They have sent me a free gift of a Paph. graham robertson which is a cross of sukhakulii and henryanum according to the tag. I was so happy what a lovely thing to do. The rossioglossum isnt in the best way its new growths are looking good ( but small) but the mature leaf appears to have mite damage never mind it was not expensive and hopefully it will grow, I am not convinced this one is flowering size. The paph graham robertson and the Paph micranthum all appear to have new leaves growing so overall a good buy. The other box was my masdevalia vetchiana x constricta x davisii, I cant imagine what the flowers are going to be like so if I can get it to flower it will be a nice surprise. That plant has a couple of black leaf tips so I will be keeping a close eye on it but the rest of the plant appears healthy. Both were very quick to arrive and I still have 3 to come. I will be in my own little jungle before I know where I am, no more orchids for a little while

Nice mix of feelings ah? 'This is not the size I was expecting', or 'Uh ha, a gift!', or 'Humm, have to keep an eye on these black stains'. It is the same here when I receive my purchases! Are orchids fun or what?
Congrats on your new acquisitions, Carrie!

Yes Rosim exactly the situaiton! You never quite know what theyre going to be like when they arrive but I think thats half the fun of it, I dont think I would make an expensive purchase on ebay for fear I wouldnt get what was expected but so far Its been a good experience and keeps me on my toes finding out whats wrong with the little guys!

That Paph. Graham Robertson sure sounds interesting! Sukhakulii and henryanum are both great species. I do hope you'll post a pic when it blooms!

Sounds like a nice way to be woken up! The gift Paph sounds really nice, I love sukhakulii!!
I love getting orchids in the mail. The most memorable was when the mailman was at the door at 8:30 on a saturday morning and I had gone to bed super late because of a party. I was exhausted, but answered the door anyways. Boy was I happy to unwrap a box full of orchids!!

I agree! Sukhakulii and henryanum are my 2 favorite Paph. species. They are just cute as heck and should make a very interesting, pretty cross.
