Default Fertilizer question

Hi All, I'm new and totally obsessed. Curious about the fertilizer I'm using, a Schultz 19-31-17 mix for "all orchids". That ratio seems to differ from what I've been reading about. Should I be using something else?

Cabbo, I moved your thread to Orchid Lounge so it might get a few responses.

I use an MSU like fertilizer for RO water (Cal-Mag). Does the fertilizer that you're using have trace elements in it?

Yes it has trace "micronutrients" but it's not urea-free and I hear that mey not be good. I think I'll try something more balanced and start using pure water instead of tap since I dont know much about my local water. I guess now I have something else to research!

I can't help you about the fertilizer you have, since I'm in Europe. But if you do decide to use pure water, you'll also have to get a fertilizer for pure water. In that case, you could also get some MSU fertilizer for pure water.
