Well...I already have an update. The bud forming on my Masdevallia floribunda blasted. I have just not had much luck with this guy. And it has definitely NOT been very floribunda.

I've been experiencing technical difficulties with the computer...it crashed and had to have a new hard drive installed on Weds!
I was planning on putting together a December status report because there is lots of stuff happening or getting ready to happen but I think I'll wait till next week and start the January 2009 Status Report
Yvan, sorry to hear about the Masdie...have you moved it or done anything differently? Has it bloomed before?

Wow...Much worse to have your hard drive crash than a little bud blast! Nope. Haven't done anything differently than I had been. It had one tiny tiny little bloom on it when I received it back in February. But no blooms for me since then. He's mounted, and had a bit of difficulty transitioning to my growing area when I got him, dropping 3 or 4 leaves within a week or two. But in about April or May, he really started to take off, and I've had great growth since then. I've been thinking about possibly unmounting him. The other Masdies I've got have all done well for me, but potted.
Looking forward to your Jan status report!

I have just a couple of small updates to the December report. My intermediate Mystery plant is in bloom finally. It's very cute with it's teeny microscopic flowers. C. Summer Spot 'Carmela' is in bud again. This is going to be one of those plants that blooms from every mature new growth. This will be it's 3rd blooming this year.
Yvan, I think most Masdies do better in pots. Mine dry out very quickly and if I miss a watering their new growth pleats up something fierce. My Masd. Angel Tears sent up 3 spikes while I was on vacation. They all got stuck in sheath. I was able to release 2, but the 3rd was toast. It's now sending up another one, so I'm back to 3. I'm crossing my fingers that the buds will mature and bloom out.

Oooh...very cool, Terri!! Are you going to post your intermediate mystery plan in the spoiler thread??
Re: the Masdie, I was surprised and, honestly, not excited when I received it and it was mounted. But I told myself to give it a shot and see how it goes. However, I may be ready to do a switcheroo.
