Default Finca Dracula in Panama

A while ago, I posted some pictures from Lankester Gardens in Costa Rica. In that post I mentioned Finca Dracula in Panama, but at that time I thought I had no pictures from there.

It turns out I DID have some (my wife found the file), so I thought I would post a few. Unfortunately, they are all NOID, except for the Genus.

For those of you who might not know, Finca Dracula was established by Andres Maduro of Panama. They currently do grow some orchids for sale, and create hybrids; but the primary purpose is to study and to preserve native Panama orchids. They are in a high elevation cloud forest area, so there are mostly cool growing types there, but the number of varieties is huge.

I’ll be in that area again in March, and will try to get more and better pictures, then post some more. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy these.

Ed

Thanks for sharing these! They are wonderful! I am going to try to get to Lankester Gardens next year - its something I've always wanted to see.... Perhaps I should add Panama to the itinerary as well!

If you're serious about adding Panama to your trip and would like some ideas and suggestions, PM me and I can give you some information.

And . . . Costa Rica's great too !!!

You'll have a terrific trip whatever you do.
