they are so sweet... in Venezuela they are called "correporzuelo" (ground runners, or something like that ) Something interesting of these birds, is that populations from different regions have a different song, and you can even differentiate where they come from by listening to their song- They are widespread in Venezuela and many south american countries...

That's wonderful! I know it's a joy to go to the greenhouse and be greeted not just by orchids but also by these cute things.

Aww, that's a cute little birdy! They are the guardian angels of the greenhouse. Wild birds can become very fond of people if the right circumtrances occur. We had a bird like that a few years back, who was tame to the point that she would come pluck hair off our heads for her nest and come sleep on our shoulders, hidden in our hair!

My birds are not so tamed as yours, Camille. I can get very close to them, as close as 10 cm or so, but they don't let me touch them. On the other hand, they served themselves from pot substrate to build up the nest. Several pots have a characteristic small hole in the substrate. When I see those holes I say "Ah, Tico-tico, you've been here again!!!" There is another couple also nesting in the grh, a couple of 'Curruíra' (Troglodytes musculus), but they are quite wild and don't let me get closer than a few meters. Let's see their sons!
