I recently attended the Orchid B'Dazzler at the Muttart Conservatory and hosted by the Orchid Species Preservation Foundation of Alberta (OSPF).
This 3 day event featured Peter Croezen of Green Canyon Orchids and multiple session topics:
Orchid Mycorrhizae, Pollinating orchid flowers, Collecting seed capsules, Drying seeds from split capsule, Preparing seeds for storage, Storage of orchid pollinia, Lab equipment and tools, Preparing media, Preparing and sowing dry seeds, Replating seedlings, Care of orchid flasks, Deflasking, Compotting seedlings, Care of compots, Culture notes, Water quality, Growing under artificial lights, Orchids of Peru, Phrag. kovachii.
Very informative - great information.
Mr. Croezen has a very unique way of shipping de-flasked seedling and you can see more about it on his website. His seedlings are very well rooted - check it out. Here is one of his 'bag-flasks' with min 10 seedlings.
