I live close to RF orchids and he has a tremendous nursery and personal garden. They give tours of his gardens on Saturday. It's unbelievable the vast collection of vandas that he has growing in his garden and available for purchase in the nursery not to mention all the other kinds of orchids he sells.
I just purchased 5 small vandas that he had on sale at an orchid show held at his nursery. Going to give it a try to see if they will survive under my care.

Hello, Adela the beginner.
Aren't you lucky? I would love to visit them some time soon.

I love their garden, my favorite though is the ghost orchid he has growing on his tree just outside in the back of their house.

Hehehe...besides all the wonderful orchids there, one of my favorite parts of the tour is the mosaic vanda in the bottom of the pool! I want one!!!

He's having a sale this weekend. i'm thinking of going to see what I can find at a good price. I'll take my camera with me and try to get some pictures to post. He also has a grotto filled with Koi that is beautiful. His pet alligator Wally however, no longer lives with him.
Suzanne, how long ago did you visit? don't you also love the jade that he has vining along the fench near the grotto with all the orchids hanging underneath? there is a nursery somewhere down here that sells the jade. i would love to have something similar to that in my yard.

I loved the grotto too! and the huge vanilla vine...and...and...and every inch of the place!!!
I was there in May '05, our orchid club took a 2 day bus trip down to the Redlands show and we made the RF Tour one of our stops. It was something I will never forget!

Unfortunately I lost lots of pictures last year when my computer crashed but there are a few here on OB in my gallery. Here are a few:
I thought I had a pic in here of the mosaic vanda at the bottom of their pool but I was wrong
Maybe Adela can come up with one because it is gorgeous!
