Which orchids top your wishlist?
With online ordering now impossible due to the cold weather, I've been very busy last last few weeks adding more orchids to my wishlist (thanks to OB, I see something new I fall in love with everyday! ) So I'm getting curious about what makes everyone go
So which ones do you really really want right now? Everyone always wants more so it shouldn't be very difficult to come up with a few!
At the top of my (very long) wishlist right now I have:
*Phalaenopsis equestris (everytime I order chids this one is sold out )
*Phalaenopsis violacea
*Phalaenopsis tetraspis
*Bc. Maikai (been wanting it ever since Sue got hers in January. )
*Dendrobium tetragonum (Saw a picture of Shannan's a year ago, and I love it!)
*Neofinetia falcata tosabeni (gorgeous red!!)
*Dtps. Kenneth Schubert 'Purple Martin'
*Dendrobium victoriae-reginae

I have too many to list!
I see you have Phalaenopsis tetraspis on your list...this is a real beauty but I saw one a few years ago that was white and red...and now any other color combo just doesn't measure up!
If I ever see the white/red again, I'll buy it without thinking twice about it

Hmmmm, let's see, I only have two on my list. My newest obsession is to get the Paph bellatulum. And my second and ongoing obsession is having every orchid Mauro owns. Yup, that's all!

Hope your house is big enough. Every time he posts a new bloom I want it! Especially that huge Max. tenuifolia

Really top list? hhhmmm... my list is more wide than long, which means most of the plants are on top
but, ok, I will post just 5 of them... no priority order...
1 - Sedirea japonica (red variety - see picture attached I received this picture via e-mail form a vendor aus taiwan who was bringing them to the show in Locarno. Unfortunatelly, when I arrived he had sold the only one he had brought.. so, maybe next time ) <-- I hope I do not break any rules by posting this picture To teh moderator: please feel free to delete it if you consider it non compliant with the OB Rules...
2 - Fredclarkeara After Dark (one day... )
3 - Lepanthes telipogoniflora
4 - Paphiopedilum helenae (I am in love with this species... unfortunatelly, seems almost impossible to get one, as illegal in most countries, and the few vendors which are legal owners in Switzerland, just don't want to sell it )
5 - Cattleya violacea in all forms... unfortunatelly, I have neither the place for them nor the right conditions to succeed with their culture...

Why would the Paphiopedilum helenae be illegal? FYI, La Cour des Orchidées in France has it.

Too many to list,(and not enough room to house them),but here goes:
Neocaugniauxia hexaptera- I had it ,bllomed it, photographed it,and then promptly killed it!
I want it back.!!!!
Lepanthes eltoroensis- ditto.!
All species of Telipogon- this is a fantasy, as I know I cannot grow them in my conditions, but after seeing them at Maduros' in Panama,.........
Stelilabium sps.-ditto.!
You get the picture...

well, Paph helenae as well as many other vietnamese paphs (I think also other orchids too) are not allowed to be taken from Vietnam anymore. It's something like Phrag kovacii, which is ilegal if not coming from certain (very few!) vendors.
For example, I know a vendor here in Switzerland, who brought once some Paph helenae (before the regulation) but did not registered them due to negligence.. now he has the plants, but is not allowed to sell them... I have begged so much (he has very nice selections) but no way... he also imported some flask of Paph. delenatii, which he immediately registered here. after a while, the plants started to bloom, and oH Surprise... one flask was not delenatii but hangianum (which is also a big deal..) At least he could show the authorities, this plant came here legally and was registered, but it was mislabelled. he had to pay quite a high fee for the registration, but now he can sell them...
