Well Duh Sue! I suppose now that I have OrchidWiz I could have looked that up myself!
I think this might look similar to Copper Angel which I already have. It's triangularis x veitchiana. It will have the same striping but probably be a bit oranger. I really like the contrast of the gold of the flower and the red tails on yours Yvan. Very nice!

Yvan, I just learned something new about this plant...DON'T cut the spike when the bloom drops!
The bloom on mine dropped over a week ago but I've been too busy...or lazy...to cut down the spike. Since yesterday, I have been looking more closely at it and thought I was imagining things but there is at least one more bud, possibly two!
I checked Orchidwiz and found that triangularis only gives one bloom per spike but vargasii gives multiple blooms, one at a time! This hybrid seems to have inherited that trait!
Mine also has a second spike budding! I hope they bloom together

Way to go, Sue!! I did know that, because thankfully the people at Parkside said that was the case. Also, as when I received it, it has a number of "old" spikes still on it and still green. One of them did go brown, so I cut it off.
Here she is now with three blooms open! And it is now REALLY REALLY fragrant.

Thanks Shannen & Sue! I hope these new Masdies are happy with me. I'm really very happy with them! I only have one other Masdie, floribunda var. tuerckheimii. It's mounted, and has always been a bit fussy to deal with. So far, these two new ones seem much much more friendly!
