Orchid Judging
Yesterday in Toronto the regional AOS Judging Center had they're semi-annual business meeting. Basically for general housekeeping and personel reviews. My friend Jeanne was promoted from a Probabtionary AOS Judge to fully Acredited. She was thrilled. The most exciting part of the day for me was that they voted to accept me as a Student Judge. Which begins a long 3 years of schooling to become Probationary. I was really excited. I just hope I can keep up with the work load! But it was a great day for me!

Congratulations Paul! As someone who has just started the 3 year process to become a judge over on this side of the pond... I completely understand the mixture of excitement and trepidation that you must be feeling.
Best of luck! And maybe we can 'compare notes' along the way!

Hi Shakkai,
Congrats to you too! It's exciting to hear about other folks who are just getting started on becoming an orchid judge. Will you be judging for the RHS, or another society? I'm just curious about how that works on your side of the pond.
Good luck with everything!

Thanks! I will be a Judge with the British Orchid Council ( http://www.erythos.com/BOC/index.html). The RHS judging is done by the RHS Orchid Comittee ( http://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/plant_groups/orchids.asp).
Best of luck to you with your exams! It will be great to have so many OB members learning all at the same time!

Congratulations to all of you. I admire your dedication of time and energy to this process. What a great way to give back to your hobby and passion. Maybe someday when I retire....

Congrats to both of you!! That must be so fun to do, even if it is a lot of work.
