Paul,
Congratulations to your friend jeanne, and more importantly to you!
We'll have to compare notes and such when I finish my application process. I passed the color test last month, and will be turning in my written application and having an interview on Nov. 15th. After that I still need to take the written exam and then get accepted in as a student. At least I've got the process under way.
Good luck to you with all you have to do.

Hi Shakkai,
Congrats to you too! It's exciting to hear about other folks who are just getting started on becoming an orchid judge. Will you be judging for the RHS, or another society? I'm just curious about how that works on your side of the pond.
Good luck with everything!

My congratulations to all of you! You certainly have my admiration. We have three student judges in our society plus one certified and I'm amazed at the incredible work load that they've undertaken. Best wishes all!!

Thanks! I will be a Judge with the British Orchid Council ( http://www.erythos.com/BOC/index.html). The RHS judging is done by the RHS Orchid Comittee ( http://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/plant_groups/orchids.asp).
Best of luck to you with your exams! It will be great to have so many OB members learning all at the same time!

Congratulations to all of you. I admire your dedication of time and energy to this process. What a great way to give back to your hobby and passion. Maybe someday when I retire....

It is nice to see fresh new blood introduced into the judging system(s). The time involved is huge and the commitment is basically for life. Fortunately, the training is intensive, interesting and mind stretching; and learning is constant the entire time you are a judge.
If any of you need some guidance, send me a line.
Many regions are having semi annual business meetings this month, dealing with personnel matters and the ever changing judging scene.

Thanks Phantasm...I appreciate your vote of confidence, and your offer of guidance. I'lllet you know if I've got questions along the way.
