I went to the Maine Orchid Society meeting this past Monday and it happened to be auction night. I brought three divisions to auction off. All the plants went cheap cheap cheap! Not just mine, but everyone's! All three of my chids sold (did I mention cheap!), but it's what I bought that blows me away.
A lady brought in her whole collection for auction. Not just divisions, but very large specimens. She is going back to her practice as a doctor and won't have time to care for these beauties.
Now, after I hyperventilated a bit and checked my wallet (so very disappointing), I managed to buy 5 chids.
These chids are well established and one has a rather large spike (4 at $5 and the one that's in spike I got for $7)......yeah!!!!!!
Here is what I got...or should I say, could afford.
1) Rojo R. Mueller
2) Encyclia 'Green Hornet'
3) Bl Mem Bernice Foster
4) Cym Golden Elf "Sundust"
5) Dgmra Winter Wonderland 'White Fairy' (in spike)

Pictures will be coming soon. My camera battery needs charging.
